I made a model of Paley Park so that I could have a
better understanding of the different ways to look at
the park itself. I made it using cardboard, a cutting
board with a knife, a metal ruler, scissors, a glue
gun, rubber bands, sticks, a picture of a waterfall,
and this plastic material. The sticks on the model tied
to the plastic material with holes represent the trees.
The blue picture on the back of the model is the waterfall.
The brown elevation of cardboard in front of the waterfall
is the stairs. The cardboard surrounding the model represents
the wall.
When making this model I was looking at my sketch of
Paley Park and noticed that the first thing that you
notice is the trees. I then tried to think of a way
to bring out these trees. The plastic material that
I used to make it was very shiny so it brought the trees
out.
I cut it up so that they could stand out like leaves
to look more like a tree. When I was at Paley Park,
I also noticed that the waterfall provided a peaceful
environment. I then tried to make the waterfall as neat
and as blue and clean as possible for people's comfort.
