My name is Asuanana Etuk, I am from Nigeria, and I
am 15 years old. I think architecture is an art and
technique of designing and building, as distinguished
from the skills associated with construction.
I like to design architecture because when I first
saw an architectural model I felt comfortable and I
decided to also build models. Being an architect means
that when I create something and people see it they
will also feel comfortable in the space. When I come
to the MoMA I saw the architecture models and I liked
them. I told one of my classes teacher that I was interested
in architecture and would like to do I. Kea told me
that I should apply online. And that is how I got here.
When I first get a project, I have to sit down and
think of what is going to make people feel comfortable
in the space. When I am thinking of what to do, I sketch
it down then think of how the elevation would look.
Then I draw it out in detail. It takes 2 to 3 days to
finish my drawings. After drawing I try to build the
model to see how it would look three dimensionally.
Without architecture we would not live in our homes.
