I paint and create in the same city where I was born
in 1989. I attended city schools all my life and never
attended any specialized schools for art but always
had an interest. My grandmother Evelyn being an artist
herself taught me all she knew and suplied me with all
the supplies I would ever need for creating my works.
She and my father took me to a museum every month. They
taught me more about classic works and not much modern
but never questioned my needs to experiment. I particiapted
in a few art work shops in the past but never one as
in depth and experimental as the one at the MoMA. The
printmaking class really taught me every aspect of the
process. My favorite activity was the xerox transfer.
I loved how once the ink from the xerox was wet we could
just play around with the image. I love that printmaking
is a way to make art that is inexpensive and that anyone
can do in their home with the right materials and some
patience. I feel that that is how art should be.
Students reflect on what they’ve learned, review films, critique
architecture, and interview artists.
