My name is Johanna Santana and I'm 16 years old. I always liked art even though I knew it wasn't as good as other people were. My art teacher in the 7th grade got me interested in it. She made it fun and she was one of the people that said that art wasn't perfect and it's not right or wrong. It's drawn and written. It's whatever you want it to be.
To me, art is a way that a person can express themselves. There are no restrictions to what you want to make, you just take a piece of paper and a pencil and let your ideas come to life. A person’s artwork is never finished, because there can always be something added or removed at the end of the day. I try to make my artwork based on things I see and things that are important to me.
Students reflect on what they’ve learned, review films, critique
architecture, and interview artists.
